Panasonic FZ1000 Review : Sensor Performance and Test Results

By on

DxOMark published their sensor review and test results for the 1-inch type sensor FZ1000 bridge camera which is currently priced for $899.99 at Amazon.

Panasonic FZ1000 sensor test results shows the camera scored a point of 64 and this is a good score overall. The premium camera placed ahead of rival Nikon 1 models which are using the same size sensor and close to larger Micro Four Thirds format cameras such as the GH4 at 74 points.

Panasonic FZ1000 is a new all-in-one camera with a massive 25-400mm lens, 4K video recording and a 1-inch sensor. See their conclusion below.

From DxOMark Conclusion :

With Sony being extremely competitive in so many markets simultaneously, it’s hardly surprising to see competitors start to hit back. The Panasonic DMC-FZ1000 is unashamedly targeting the RX10, which was a unique proposition. While the Sony remains tempting for its high-speed constant aperture zoom, the Panasonic’s extra reach, 4K video capture, similar (if not quite as impressive) sensor performance and slightly lower price means it’s a strong contender in this new class of camera.

Panasonic FZ1000 features a super useful 25-400mm 16x optical zoom lens which has an F2.8-4.0 aperture range, 0.09 second auto-focusing speed, a 2,359k OLED Live View Finder (LVF) and a 3-inch 921-K dot LCD display.
