With the introduction of the Nikon Z50 mirrorless camera, the positioning of the company’s product range according to classes was shared. Here’s where the products for Nikon’s DSLR and mirrorless cameras are positioned and sorted, with the new update.
Nikon posted current camera range positioning of 2019 during the launch event of Nikon Z 50 (Amazon, B&H, Adorama) APS-C Z-mount mirrorless camera. There are currently 10 Nikon interchangeable lens cameras on the market. 3 are mirrorless and 7 are digital SLRs. In addition, 5 of these Nikon cameras are offered as full-frame sensor, FX and 5 as APS-c sensor, DX. Looking at the list below, we can see how and where Nikon positioned its products.
For example, the Nikon D500 is a DSLR camera, which most people would probably consider to be of professional quality, but only in the listed Enthusiast ”category. The newly announced Z 50 is also positioned alongside the D500 and D7500 as an enthusiast camera. It is interesting that the Nikon D500 is only in the “Enthusiast” position, when most D500 owners would probably consider it to be a professional grade camera.
