By on

Olympus is rumored to announce a new OM-D camera in January 2019 Looking at the information at the moment, there is not much detail yet. But the new MFT camera’s name can be the Olympus OM-D E-M1X.

This means that we might see the official announcement in the beginning of 2019 probably at CES event in Las Vegas. The rumor mill claims that the new Olympus OM-D E-M1X (name is not confirmed yet) will have a high price tag.

It will be a game changing camera and the features has to built to outshine all current models in the market. In order to achieve this Olympus will have to offer something extraordinary to compete against the latest Nikon Z7Canon EOS-R and Fujifilm X-T3 mirrorless cameras. More buzz after the break?

Olympus OM-D E-M1X Camera to be Announced at CES 2019 ?

There is not enough information on the Olympus OM-D E-M1X camera specs yet. But since the price of the first leaked information is expensive and a high-level model, we can list some expectations for the Olympus OM-D E-M1X. It is being said that it has some unique features not available on any camera on market yet.

So if this MFT camera will not be the expected E-M1 Mark III or E-M5 Mark III and will be a new lineup, then it might be useful to note that the sensor may be different. What superior features does the Olympus OM-D E-M1X or this high-end OM-D camera have?

We don’t expect an organic sensor or global shutter for this. But a super-sized multi-aspect sensor with IBIS and pixel-shift makes sense. To compete the latest Fujifilm X-T3, the video features could be 4K 60P 10-bit 4:2:2 internal and 4K 120P over HDMI. More on the specs are the internal variable ND filter, dual UHS II slots and tilting screen.

Anyway take all these with grain of salt and please free to add your comments and expectations on this. Stay tuned with us for more information.
