Sony A7III Rumored to Feature 4K Video and Joystick Control?

By on

The Sony A7III has begun adding new information to its rumors. According to the latest information, the full-frame mirrorless camera might feature 4K video recording and joystick control.

As far as we can remember from previous rumors, Sony’s two high-end full frame E-mount cameras are in the development phase. One of them will feature super high-performance AF, continuous shooting and ISO sensitivity.

Sony A7III rumors indicates that the camera will have low-resolution sensor with 4K video and joystick control. More details after the break!

Sony A7III Coming with 4K Video and Joystick Control

The Sony A7II is the first full frame mirrorless camera to employ a 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization system. It comes with a 24-megapixel sensor, maximum ISO of 25,600, tilting display on the back.

The next Sony A7-series camera will be bigger than the current generation. On the other hand the body will not be bigger than the Canon 1D X. The A7 Mark III will have an impressive burst rate around 20fps. A good news for Sony users.

The sensor will be brand new but the resolution is a big question in mind. Sony might use the same 24MP resolution as the Mark II version with the A99II technology inside. This will make the buffer size bigger and add higher fps as expected. Again the native ISO performance is another question.

It’s good to know that the 4K video recording and joystick control details will be available, even though the Sony A7III features are clogged at this stage.

What is the selling price of the Sony A7III? Our guess is that it can be between $2200 and $2500 depending on the current product range and features leaked so far.

Rumored Sony A7III specs

Here are the combined specs so far.

  • 24.3-megapixel image sensor
  • 4K video recording
  • Improved AF
  • Burst speed around 20fps
  • A fully articulated touchscreen
  • AA filter or global shutter in silent mode.
  • Faster EVF
  • Joystic control
  • Better weather sealing
  • Dual card slots
  • Price around $2400

So what about the second camera with high-resolution sensor? That sound like the long-rumored Sony Alpha A9 model. It might arrive later in 2017 or early 2018.

This is all for Sony A7III rumors. The company will also announce a new super telephoto-zoom lens soon. The FE 100-400mm G lens is rumored to be announced along with the high-end shooter.
