More reviews and tests are now available online for the Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS [SEL2470Z] full frame lens.
The Sony FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS is a wide-angle to portrait-length zoom lens that features a constant f/4 maximum aperture and versatile All-In-One lens solution for the full frame mirorless cameras.
They’ve tested the lens with using the Sony A7 and A7r full frame mirrorless cameras. Sony Alpha Lab full review also includes several sample images at different ISO levels and aperture. See their conclusions below.
Both reviews says that this is the standart zoom lens for your full frame mirrorless camera with good image quality but both also underline the high price tag for f/4 speed and optical quality even with Zeiss badge.

From PhotographyBlog review :
In summery, while the Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar T* FE 24-70mm F4 ZA OSS is a definite step-up from the Sony FE 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 OSS lens, it isn’t quite the quantum leap that we expected. If you really want a standard zoom for your A7/A7/A7S camera, this is still the one to go for, but the combination of the 35mm and 55mm primes lenses is a better option from both an image quality and price point of view, if you can live with the reduced focal range.
From Sony Alpha Lab review :
Overall the Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens is a decent performer all around and when stopped down to f/8 it really sharpens up nice. Wide open at f/4 the lens does not perform the greatest and this is disappointing considering the Zeiss badge and cost of the lens. If you zoom in to ~35mm things sharpen up considerable in the corners as you can easily see in the Lab test photos above.
