Nikon is rumored to announce a new camera with CF Express memory card (or cards) in Q2 of this year. Even current rumors doesn’t mention which DSLR or mirrorless will have this card slot, the mostly likely candidate is the long awaited Nikon D6 DSLR camera.
We already know that Nikon is working hard on the flagship Nikon D6 DSLR camera, which is expected to arrive in early 2019. However the company focused on full frame mirrorless system and postponed this announcement.
So, this new Nikon camera with CF Express memory card could be the Nikon D6 DSLR. We guess this can be a double announcement with the D510. Meantime if Nikon D6 remains the showcase camera for the 2020 Olympics, the release date of these products would be the late 2019.
New Nikon Camera with CF Express Memory Card Coming in Q2 of 2019
CF Express memory cards are much faster than the other kind of memory cards, max read speed up to 1,400 MB/s. The new CF Express card firmware update for the Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7,mirrorless cameras is also expected to be released in Q2 of 2019.
Back to Nikon D6 rumors! As mentioned above, we might think that this new DSLR camera will have a slightly more advanced sensor. In this case, we can foresee that the continuous shooting speed of 12 fps will be slightly lower.
