Panasonic Lumix LX8 Announcement Delayed Until August 2014

Panasonic Lumix LX8 premium compact camera previously rumored for July 16, now the Panasonic LX8 launch date rumored to take place in August instead of July.

The reason why the upcoming high-end compact camera has been delayed is unknown. But the sources confirm that the Panasonic will announce the LX8 very soon by the end of August. Looks like the Lumix LX8 will be ready for Photokina 2014.

More updates are coming for the high-end compact camera as it will not use the 1-inch sensor found on the newly announced Panasonic FZ1000.

The upcoming Panasonic LX8 will have 24-90mm f/2.0-2.8 fixed lens and 4k video recording capabilities. The camera will replace the LX7 and it will be 3% larger than the previous model.

Panasonic’s goal is to make a high quality premium compact camera to compete against the newly announced Sony RX100M3.

The premium camera will sport a larger sensor and a built-in electronic viewfinder, when compared to its predecessor. It will have a swivel touch screen with touch to focus and capture features. The LX8 said to have a price tag of $899.

Previously the LX8 is scheduled to replace the LX7 on July 16, now according to recent rumors the product launch event of the Panasonic LX8 will take place sometime in late August instead of mid-July.
