By on

Canon is rumored to be working on a replacement for the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM wide-angle zoom lens.

According to latest Canon rumors, the next version of EF 16-35mm f/2.8L lens will be released in the fourth quarter of 2015. The focal length could change slightly, something like an EF 15-35mm f/2.8L USM as previously suggested.

The new Canon f/2.8 wide-angle zoom lens is in the works and that it would be a very good alternative to the recently launched EF 11-24mm f/4L USM lens. The rumored fast wide angle zoom lens also required which is expected to be lighter, cheaper and easier to use than the EF 11-24 f/4L too.

New Canon f/2.8 wide-angle zoom lens set to replace the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens. Earlier its release date scheduled for 2016, but now it is said to become available after the introduction of the EF 35mm f/1.4L II lens.

Canon has changed focal lengths a couple of times for this kind of lens. The first in the line was the EF 20-35mm f/2.8L and then the EF 17-35mm f/2.8L and most recently two version of the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L.

Event and indoor photographers would be very happy with wider focal length version, but the question is the price of this lens.
