Canon RF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens Coming in 2020

By on

As previously reported, Canon is currently working on a new RF 500mm f/4L IS USM lens, that will be the first super telephoto for the RF mount lineup. Along with Canon RF 500mm f/4L IS USM Lens, the company could also announce another super telephoto prime lens called the RF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM lens sometime in 2020.

The source also claimed that this RF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM lens will come with a “new and unique” feature for super telephoto lenses. The details are still unknown, but the Canon RF 500mm f/4L IS USM & RF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM lenses will be announced together in 2020. It’s a big possibility that we might see more professional RF mount lens gear prior to 2020 Olympics.

These rumored super telephoto prime lenses for Canon full frame mirrorless cameras are expected to arrive in 2020 to 2021. So they are not in the list of Canon RF Lens Roadmap 2020.
