This lens joins the existing 35mm f/2 R WR, and 50mm f/2 R WR, a trio of weather-resistant X-mount lineup. The 23mm f/2 offers a field of view equivalent to a 35mm lens on a full-frame camera.
Built with a metal housing, it provides a ring for aperture control and uses a stepping motor that Fujifilm claims is capable of focusing speeds as fast as 0.05 seconds when paired with the phase detection AF systems of the X-Pro2 and X-T2. The lens has won the best csc prime lens award at the 2017 Technical Image Press Association awards (TIPA).
