According to recent rumors, new updates for EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II and EF 500mm f/4L IS II lenses are expected to come in 2019. Both lenses will probably get similar weight savings treatment like the EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III and EF 600mm f/4L IS III.

The 400mm F2.8 has shed 1kg / 2.2lb and the 600mm F4 is 0.86kg / 1.9lb lighter.

This means weight savings at more than 25% and 20% respectively. Both lenses feature advanced coatings, improved image stabilization and circular nine-blade apertures.

The Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM is scheduled to begin shipping in December 2018 with a price of $11,999. The Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM is scheduled to begin shipping in December 2018 for a price of $12,999.

EF 300mm f/2.8L IS III & EF 500mm f/4L IS III USM Lenses Coming in Mid/Late 2019

From CR :

We’re told that the EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II and EF 500mm f/4L IS II will get a similar weight savings treatment in mid to late 2019. Do not expect the same level of weight reduction, as those two lenses are significantly lighter than their 400mm and 600mm counterparts.

Rumors of a new EF 200mm f/2L IS and EF 800mm f/5.6L IS have been quiet for a long time. According to current reports, there is no evidence of renewal for these two lenses in 2019.
