Canon PowerShot SX730 HS specs leaked before launch event

The first Canon PowerShot SX730 HS specs and images have been leaked on the web, ahead of the compact camera’s official announcement event.

The shooter is said to employ a 40x optical zoom lens, which will provide a 35mm focal length equivalent of 24-960mm. The device will offer a maximum aperture of f/3.3-6.9, depending on the selected focal length.

The Canon PowerShot SX730 HS is expected to feature a 1-inch-type sensor that provides 20.3-megapixel photos. More details and images after the break!

Canon PowerShot SX730 HS will be a compact camera with a 40x optical zoom lens. This will be perfect for travel photographers. The new compact camera rumored to feature a 20.3-megapixel 1/2.3-inch-type image sensor just like its predecessor.

With the Canon PowerShot SX730 HS camera, users will be able to capture architecture, street, portrait, sports, and bird photos with a single camera.

Well it can’t have both can it?! I’m guessing that the second statement is the correct one. Shouldn’t you remove the one about a 1″ sensor? Bit silly.
