Canon has filed a new patent in Japan. The new patent describes the long-mentioned EF 35mm f/1.4L II prime lens.

The upcoming Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM lens is expected to be the next new L lens after Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM and it is rumored to be announced in late Summer 2015.

The filed patent appears to refer to the successor of the Canon EF 35mm f 1.4L USM which is released in back 1998 and currently priced for $1,479 at Amazon.
