Olympus 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO Lens Release Date Rumored for June

More details are coming for the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO wide angle lens for mirrorless cameras with Micro Four Thirds image sensors.

According to latest Olympus rumors, the 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO lens release date scheduled for June. The shipping is said to start in Summer between July and August depending to the regions.

Olympus 7-14mm f/2.8 MFT lens is expected to feature extremely high quality optics. The super wide-angle lens provides a focal length from 14mm to 28mm and also gives constant aperture of f/2.8 throughout the focal range.

The Olympus 7-14mm f/2.8 and 300mm f/4 PRO are the next two Olympus PRO-series lenses in the lineup. The Olympus 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO lens was rumored before to be released during the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2015 along with the Olympus E-M5II mirrorless camera.

Now the rumor mill in talks for a June release for the wide-angle lens. When becomes available in the market, it will be a direct competitor to the Panasonic’s 7-14mm f/4.

The price of the lens is unknown at the moment but it is rumored to be around $1,799 which is also the same price of the current Four Thirds version of Zuiko 7-14mm f/4.0 lens.
