Olympus has released a new firmware update for the Olympus OM-D E-M1 micro four thirds system mirrorless camera. Firmware version 2.2 is now available for download by using the Olympus Digital Camera Updater.
This is the sixth firmware update for the high-end OM-D E-M1 camera. The Olympus E-M1 firmware version 2.2 mainly fixes the bright points appear in some images issue found in firmware version 2.0 and 2.1.
The Olympus OM-D E-M1 mirrorless digital camera is a compact, ergonomically design camera featuring a 16.3 megapixel Live MOS sensor and TruePic VII image processor.

- The issue in firmware version 2.0 and 2.1 where bright points appear in some images has been resolved.
When updating the firmware from Version 1.0/1.1/1.3/1.4 to Version 2.2, the camera settings other than the AF focus adjustments are reset. When updating the firmware from 2.0 / 2.1, the camera settings are maintained.
