Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS Sports Lens Scheduled for December 2023

Sigma has announced the development of the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS Sports lens for L-Mount and Sony E-mount cameras. Looks like the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 for E mount and L-mount mirrorless cameras is finally coming. This lens is scheduled to be announced in December 2023.

There’s no pricing information or many specs available on the new lens, but this is going to be an affordable alternative to the current super expensive (and excellent performance) Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS II Lens.

Sigma says the 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS Sports lens will have a built-in HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) to deliver fast, quiet and accurate AF that will keep up with fast-moving objects and the optical stabiliser features Sigma’s ‘OS2’ algorithm allowing the lens to be used easily in low-light conditions, even when shooting hand-held. It’s also fully weather-resistant.

Sigma Lens Format Abbreviations

DC

These lenses are designed especially for cameras with APS-C sensors. The smaller image size makes possible a compact, lightweight format that offers outstanding flexibility and maneuverability.

DN

These lenses are designed for exceptional performance on mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras with a short flange back distance.
