Venus Optics Announced Two new Laowa 2X Macro Cine lenses

Venus Optics announces two new macro cinema lenses, the Laowa 65mm T2.9 2X Macro APO Cine and Laowa 100mm T2.9 2X Macro APO Cine,

These two Laowa macro models are the T2.9 Cine versions of its 65mm and 100mm 2x Ultra Macro APO lenses. Both lenses come in an array of mount options and are optically identical to their stills counterparts, but with all the filming benefits of a cinema lens housing.

The Laowa 65mm T2.9 2X Macro APO Cine is available today for $599 in all mount options while the Laowa 100mm T2.9 2X Macro APO Cine is available for $999 for all mounts. Both include a protective hardcase.  Laowa lenses are listed at B&H Photo and Adorama.

The new Laowa 65mm T2.9 2X Macro APO Cine lens is available in Fujifilm X, Sony E, Nikon Z and Canon EF-M cropped-sensor (Super 35) cameras and is the first of its type with a 17 cm minimum focusing distance. The Laowa 100mm T2.9 2X Ultra Macro APO Cine lens is designed for ‘full-frame cameras and compatible with Arri PL, Sony E, Canon EF, Canon RF and L mounts.

Designed for professional use, the focusing ring and the stepless aperture ring are equipped with industrial standard 0.8 mod gear. Both lenses have 77mm filter threads so cinematographers can choose between screw-in filters and using matte boxes. The table below compares the two lenses.
