Viltrox AF 85mm F1.8 FE II Portrait Lens for Sony E Mount

Viltrox has announced the new AF portrait lens and it is the Viltrox AF 85mm F1.8 FE II for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. The first version of the Sony E mount lens was introduced exactly a year ago.

The Viltrox AF 85mm F1.8 FE II is a relatively light lens and weighes only 484g. The minimum focusing distance is 0.8m with a Macro reproduction ratio of 1:8. The optical design of the Sony 85mm 1.8 lens consists of 10 elements in 7 groups, among which there is one aspherical element. In addition, the manufacturer claims that its lens is perfect for shooting dynamic scenes and videos.

An HD Nano multi-layer coating is mentioned in the product description, reducing the risk of glare and other artifacts. It should also be noted that there is a micro USB port in the mount. This port is used to upgrade the lens firmware.

Price and availability

Viltrox AF 85mm F1.8 FE II Lens for Sony E mount is now available to pre-order through the B&HPhoto store for $399 and delivery is expected on May 26, 2020. Viltrox lenses are sold at AdoramaB&H and Amazon.
