New Nikon Z6 and Z7 Firmware Coming with Improved Autofocus

Nikon is rumored to announce a new firmware update for the Z6 and Z7 cameras. This would be an important upgrade as the new firmware will improve the autofocus capabilities for both full frame miirorless cameras.

The FW 2.20 update for Z6 & Z7 already supports CFexpress memory cards, currently only Sony CFexpress cards are fully supported by Nikon Z6 & Z7.

In addition to autofocus improvements, the rumored Nikon Z6/Z7 firmware update that is expected next week could also add compatibility for other CFExpress memory cards. Check CFexpress card brands at Adorama, B&H, and Amazon in the US.

Previously major Nikon Firmware 2.0+ upgrade adds Eye-Detection AF, improves low light AF performance, and auto exposure tracking to Z6 & Z7 mirrorless cameras.
