New patents are filed by Canon. The applications are for RF mount superzoom lenses and they are RF 28-280mm f/2.8, RF 28-135mm f/4, RF 24-170mm f/4.
The first one in the patent application describes a long-zoom RF 28-280mm f/2.8 lens which will be good companion for the RF 28-70mm f/2L USM lens. This will probably be a very large and heavy lens if it is real.
The other ones are the RF 28-135mm f/4 lens or RF 28-170mm f/4 lens. Check out the details below.
