Canon EOS R Firmware V1.6 Available For Download

Canon has released a new minor firmware update for the Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless camera.

This is a minor firmware with some bug fixes and support RF 85mm F1.2L USM DS lens. Check out the Canon EOS R Firmware Update Version 1.60 details below.

EOS R Firmware Version 1.6.0 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. Support for the RF 85mm F1.2L USM DS lens has been added.
  2. Corrects a phenomenon in which the function or setting value assigned to the control ring may change when the control ring is operated in Eco mode.
  3. Corrects a phenomenon in which the camera may stop operating properly during “auto transfer” when using Camera Connect with a Wi-Fi connection.
  4. Corrects a phenomenon in which high-speed synchronization with use of an external flash may not operate properly depending on the camera’s setting for C.Fn2 “Set shutter speed range”.

This update for the Canon EOS R is for cameras equipped with firmware up to Version 1.4.0. If the camera’s firmware is already Version 1.6.0, this update is unnecessary.
