Canon EOS Ra Astrophotography Camera to be Announced Next

After the official announcement of Canon EOS-1D X Mark III development and the two RF lenses, next camera from Canon would be the Canon EOS Ra astrophotography camera. This will be the first full frame astrophotography camera from Canon. The official announcement of Canon EOS Ra could be as early as next week.

The astrophotography EOS R mirrorless camera will be named as Canon EOS Ra,  and it is already appeared on an internal Canon roadmap for 2020.

If you prefer to shoot astrophotography nightscapes including the Milky Way, Meteor Showers or Aurora, a full-frame camera will be your best choice. With this in mind, Canon is planning to introduce EOS Ra full frame mirrorless camera in EOS R lineup dedicated for astrophotography. According to rumor mill this camera will be officially announced very soon.

No specifications are known at this time, as only the model name has appeared on the internal document. There is however a chance that the model name is an internal codename for a different camera.
