Panasonic 8-18mm and 50-200mm Lenses To Be Announced in Late 2017

Panasonic is planning to release 8-18mm f/2.8-4.0 and 50-200mm f/2.8-4.0 lenses in late 2017. Both lenses are expected to be announced in late Summer around September, 2017.

The trio of Leica DG lenses consists of 8-18mm wide-angle, 12-60mm standart zoom and 50-200mm telephoto zoom. All these lenses will provide f/2.8 and f/4 aperture through out the zoom range.

The first in the series of the Leica DG Vario-Elmarit F2.8-4 premium lenses that reaches the market is the Panasonic 12-60mm F2.8-4.0. The standart zoom lens unveiled at CES 2017 event.

The LEICA DG VARIO-ELMARIT F2.8-4.0 Series lineup will expand with additional lenses in 2017. They will be aimed at the high-end Micro Four Thirds cameras. An 8-18mm (16-36mm, 35mm camera equivalent) wide zoom lens and 50-200mm (100-400mm, 35mm camera equivalent) telephoto zoom lens are presently under development. They will be offered in sharp, metallic black color.

The new Panasonic LEICA DG 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 lens will will start shipping in late March with a price of $999. For the upcoming optics the rumor mill claims a prica tag around $1,500 for both of them.
