Sony Will Replace the 85mm f/1.4 Carl Zeiss Lens Soon

Sony is rumored to update the 85mm f/1.4 Carl Zeiss Planar T* prime lens soon. The A-mount optic currently removed from the official Sony listing.

According to recent talks, the Sony 85mm f/1.4 Carl Zeiss Planar T* replacement will be announced soon.

The optic will be manufactured by Cosina Co Ltd in Japan. It is expected to have Zeiss T-Coatings, SSM and Weather Sealing.

The 85mm f/1.4 Carl Zeiss Planar T* is a prime lens from Sony. It is a fast and bright lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.4.

Ideal for portrait photography, this lens provides excellent results in low-light. It also comes packed with Super SteadyShot image stabilization system.

This Sony lens has been designed for full-frame Sony A-mount DSLRs. If it becomes available it will also compatible with cropped APS-C image sensors cameras too. As a result the 85mm focal length becomes the 35mm equivalent of a longer 127.5mm telephoto lens.
