Olympus E-M5 Successor To Be Announced First Week of February 2015

Olympus E-M5 successor mirrorless camera with Micro Four Thirds image sensor is rumored to be announced in the first week of February 2015.

The E-M5 successor camera is previously said to be in the works and rumor mill already mentioned that it will be an “exciting” new OM-D shooter.

The rumored Olympus OM-D camera has been confirmed as the E-M5 successor and the it is said to be very different and not just an evolution of the standard OM-D line.

According to sources at 43rumors the new Olympus OM-D camera coming in the first week of February 2015 and will replace the E-M5. The mirrorless camera will be able to record 4K videos.

When we look at the mirrorless market we have the widely popular Panasonic GH4 and Sony A7S cameras which can capture 4K movies. It looks like Olympus will join the party with a 4K video recording E-M5 successor camera.

The OM-D E-M5 replacement will be weathersealed and shoot movies at Ultra HD resolution. The Olympus 4K mirrorless camera will come with multiple frame rate options, including 24fps, 25fps, and 30fps.

According to the first leaked specs of the E-M5 successor, the camera will be focused on video and ability to shoot 4K. It looks like Olympus will not touch the OM-D line-up and the E-M1 will remain the flagship OM-D camera.

The next OM-D series mirrorless camera with a Micro Four Thirds sensor will be the E-M5 successor and it is rumored to be announced in the first week of February 2015. The E-M5 successor camera will probably be on display at the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2015 in mid-February which will take place in Japan.

The OM-D E-M5 is a Micro Four Thirds camera announced back in February 2012. The mft camera features a 16 megapixel sensor, ISO up to 25,600, high resolution 1.4million dot EVF, built-in image stabilization and tiling touch screen.

Olympus E-M5 mirrorless camera currently selling for a price under $1000. For the time being no more details such as specs, price, release date and the name of the camera are unknown.
