Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II Lens Coming in Early 2015

The EF 35mm f/1.4L USM successor lens is in the rumor mill again. According to sources the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II lens now rumored to be announced in early 2015.

The rumor surfaced over CanonRumors website as the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II lens announcement date hasn’t been set, however the lens could appear as early as Q1 of 2015, or fall into the second quarter of next year. Shipping of the upcoming EF 11-24mm f/4L could also happen in same dates.

Previously the EF 35mm f/1.4L II lens is rumored to be slightly wider than the current version but weighs less and has a new type of coating on at least one of the elements. The lens is also feature a 77mm filter thread.

There were several patents filed before for the successor of the Canon EF 35mm f 1.4L USM which is released in back 1998 and currently priced for $1,479 at Amazon.
