Promote Systems has announced two exclusive tethering solutions for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4 mirrorless camera.
USB Tether software allows users to easily control the GH4 from a PC or laptop. The company has also added support for Panasonic’s flagship Micro Four Thirds model to its Promote Control, an advanced, pocket size remote controller for digital cameras.
Panasonic GH4 firmware updated to version 2.0 on October 1 to enhance the performance and controllability of the camera and features a new 4K Photo Mode. The new firmware also adds tethered shooting and modes to make it easier to take still images from 4K video. See below for the details.

Photographers can now control the LUMIX DMC-GH4 from a PC or using an advanced pocket-sized remote controller.
Houston, TX, October 2, 2014 – Promote® Systems has announced two exclusive tethering solutions for the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GH4 camera. USB Tether software, designed from the ground up in cooperation with Panasonic developers, allows users to easily control the LUMIX DMC-GH4 from a PC or laptop. The company has also added support for the LUMIX DMC-GH4 to its flagship Promote® Control, an advanced remote controller for digital SLR cameras. The Promote® Control and the LUMIX DMC-GH4 can now be used together to capture stunning HDR (High Dynamic Range) images, Time-Lapses and HDR Time-Lapses. More functionality will be added in the future with free firmware updates.
