Sigma is rumored to announce the 85mm f/1.4 DG Art lens some time in August.
The announcement date for the lens is said to happen just before before the big Photokina Show in September in Cologne, Germany.
Sigma is planning to add momentum after their successful release of the 50mm f/1.4 ART lens. Now the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG Art lens is rumored to be announced in August to compete the new Otus 85mm f/1.4 lens which Zeiss set to release for the Photokina Show too.
Availability of the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens may not be until early 2015. Sigma’s current 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM lens is priced for $969 at Amazon.
Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens Coming In August?
Sigma is planning to announce more lenses this year perhaps a long zoom in the 300 to 500mm range, to complement their current 200-500mm f/2.8 model also mentioned.
Sigma filed new patent for 15-30mm F1.8, 17-35mm F1.8, 16-50mm F2.8, 12-24mm F2.8 lenses. According to recent rumors Sigma could also announce the first lenses for Fuji X-mount cameras.
If the expected Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens performs like the new 50mm f/1.4 Art, it will be in the pocket of every prime lovers.
