Canon Working On New Sensor Technology

New Canon full frame CMOS image sensors are in the works as there are rumors around saying that the company may be working on a new generation of CMOS sensors with lower production costs and easier to produce.

The future use of these new sensors may include mirrorless and non-professional DSLR model cameras. The new Canon full-frame sensor generation tech planned for mirrorless and DSLR cameras and could be based on a technology similar to Foveon.

If rumors are true, these new generation of CMOS sensors will be available for both the forthcoming mirrorless M series lineup as well as updated versions of the current range of prosumer DLSR models.
