Sony NEX-7 Replacement Camera To Be Announced on February 12

Sony will officially announce the successor of NEX-6 and NEX-7 mirrorless camera on February 12. Sony NEX-7 replacment camera expected to be named as the Sony A6000.

Sony will have a press announcement on Wednesday February 12 just before the CP+ 2014 show. The event is focused on the launch of new mirrorless products. The new Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless camera will be a flagship model and will replace both the NEX-6 and NEX-7.

The NEX-7 replacement is to feature on-sensor SteadyShot image stabilization technology. This means non-OSS lenses now can be used with the upcoming NEX-7 successor camera.

Sony A6000 APS-C E-mount mirrorless camera will feature a faster autofocus system and an improved image processor. Sony NEX-6 and NEX-7 successor will also feature improved Image Quality and EVF.

The new Sony NEX-7 replacement camera most likely coming without the “NEX” branding. The upcoming Sony mirrorless camera will be priced at €800 in Europe and around $950 in US.

” This means non-OSS lenses now can be used with the upcoming NEX-7 successor camera.” There is a word or two missing. Of course non-OSS lenses can always be used. But “with stabilization” is the important missing thing here.
