Sigma To Make a Micro Four Thirds System Camera

Sigma is rumored to be working on a new Micro Four Thirds camera with Foveon sensor. The rumored Sigma M4/3 camera to be announced in 2014.

The rumored camera may benefit from the large MFT lens choice. Even the micro four thirds system may bring a lot of good opportunities for Sigma, the company previously told that they had no plans to make MFT cameras. Also the current APS-C Foveon sensor used on SD1 Merrill DSLR camera is almost outdated.

If rumors are true we may see a Sigma M4/3 camera in 2014 but when thinking about the existing Foveon sensor technology this will be a smart move considering Sigma’s fixed-lens cameras have a hard time gathering market share.
