Canon EF 100-400mm f/4-5.6L IS II Lens Will Be Tested at Winter Olympics

The successor of Canon EF 100-400mm f4-5.6L IS lens is rumored for years and the announcement of the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4-5.6L IS II previously rumored for early 2014.

Recent rumors show that the upcoming Canon EF 100-400mm f/4-5.6L IS II lens will be testing at the Winter Olympics in Sochi in February 2014. As usual selected photographers will touch and test the telephoto zoom lens first.

The announcement date is still unknown also it is not clear if these tests at the Olympics are the final ones. The lens could be announced after the events. The current EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS lens is on the market since 1998 and the telephoto lens is available for $1,499 at Amazon.

It won’t take much to beat the original. It was the worst L lense that I ever owned.
