Olympus Filed Patent for 25mm f/2.8 and 24-41mm f/4.5-5.6 3D lens

Olympus has filed a patent for 25mm f/2.8 and 24-41mm f/4.5-5.6 3D lens. The new patent describes a 3D lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras. This technology allows photographers to capture the same frame from different angles with creating a 3D photo.

Egami spotted the patent for the new Olympus 3D lens and camera. The lens design of the 25mm f/2.8 and 24-41mm f/4.5-5.6 3D lens is made for Four Thirds sensor camera.

There is not much details about the 3D lens. Basically it is to capture two views of a single frame then camera combine the photos to create a 3D view.
