Please also note that the Sony a7 V would NOT be pitted against the "flagship" cameras of Canon and Nikon. The a7 cameras (as opposed to other variants like a7R and a7S) are not considered flagships for Sony. The a9-series and a1-series cameras are their more premium LINES, with the a1-series generally considered as the flagship series.
If Sony prices the A7V at $3,000 (USD) I think it will be a big mistake. They will alienate young shooters that need a lower full frame price point to get started. And the competition is fierce from Canon who has the R8 for $1,400 USD, R6 II for $1,900 USD (possibly the R6 III at $2,500). Not to mention they have nearly filled out their affordable holy trinity of STM zoom lenses, awaiting only the RF 70-150 or 180 f2.8. Then there is Nikon. Wow! They are playing hardball. With the second best lens selection only to Sony and several excellent affordable camera options including the $2,200 USD Z6III and ZR. They are looking formidable.
