By on

According to latest Olympus rumors, new OM Digital OM-5 camera to be announced soon. So far, the “OM-5” is expected to be announced in July / August 2022, and it is rumored that it will not be the successor to the current “OM-D E-M5 Mark III“. This information is coming from several sources on the Chinese social media platform Weibo and from previous reports.

The upcoming OM SYSTEM OM-5 mirrorless camera is rumored to have a new 41MP BSI live-MOS Sensor (total 47MP), and it is capable of high-speed continuous shooting at 20 frames per second. There is a lot of unreliable info being shared there, so take that OM-5 rumor with a grain of salt.

While the supply shortage for OM-1 continues, OM Digital also commented on the demand for “OM-1” supply shortage to be resolved before “OM-5” appears.

Here are some unconfirmed specs for the OM-5:

  • 41MP BSI live-MOS Sensor
  • 20 fps shooting speed
  • 3 additional stops of high ISO
  • 1.5 more stops of dynamic range
