Canon EOS R5 & EOS R6 Production Delayed Due to Coronavirus

Due to Coronavirus, the production of upcoming Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6 has been delayed. According to recent reports, less than 1/4 of Canon’s manufacturing capacity is impacted due to supply chain issues from the Coronavirus.

The Canon EOS R5 was originally scheduled to start shipping in July while the Canon EOS R6 is rumored to begin shipping in June 2020. But now, due to the coronavirus, Canon will probably release both cameras in fall 2020 (likely October 2020) in good quantity.

The new Canon EOS R5 full-frame mirrorless camera is listed at Adorama and B&HPhoto. The detailed specifications and pricing info are still unknown.

Canon EOS R5 Key Features:

  • 8K Video Capture
  • 20 fps high-speed continuous shooting (Electric Shutter)
  • 12 fps high-speed continuous shooting (Mechanical Shutter)
  • High-performance coordinated image stabilization (IS)
