Here are the latest reviews for the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM lens. The Canon RF 24-70 F2.8L IS USM is a standard zoom lens for the company’s full-frame mirrorless system.
The construction of the lens consists of 21 elements, including 3 aspherical and 3 UD elements. It uses a Nano USM motor to drive the focus group quickly and quietly. The minimum focus distance of the lens is 21cm at wide-angle and 38cm at telephoto. The 24-70’s image stabilizer can reduce shake by up to 5 stops, according to Canon. The lens weighs in at 900 grams and, like all ‘L’ lenses, is rugged and weather-sealed.
Photography Blog gave the lens a 4/5 stars rating and a “recommended”. From the conclusion of the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS review:
[…] it could […] be argued that Canon doesn’t yet have the camera bodies to match up to exactly how good this lens is. We’ve been using the RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM with the Canon EOS RP, which is an entry-level model, but even the higher end Canon EOS R perhaps doesn’t quite appeal to professionals.[…] the Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM lens is an excellent performer – so if you do have the cash to spend on it you shouldn’t be disappointed. It’s capable of producing some very sharp images along with very pleasing bokeh. It’ll be interesting to see if Canon releases a very high resolution model to really take advantage of what the lens is capable of.
From DigitalCameraWorld review:
Canon’s most important RF mount trinity lens is here to prosthelytize the benefits of the EOS R system – and it will have most users singing ‘Hallelujah’ all the way to the nearest camera store. It’s snappy, it’s sharp, it’s stabilized and it even suppresses focus breathing… but it’s a little rough around the edges, and at this price point that’s enough to stop it short of greatness.
