Nikon DX (APS-C) Z-mount Mirrorless Camera Coming

According to latest rumors, Nikon is rumored to announce a new DX-format APS-c sensor Z-mount mirrorless camera in 2019.

Nikon already has a very aggressive strategy for its full frame mirrorless lineup. Both Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 sales are good and they are adding up new Z-mount lenses to the system.

Now a new entry-level mirrorless camera is in the rumor mill that would come with an APS-c sized image sensor, known as DX-format in Nikon terminology. The official announcement is expected in late 2019.

Both Canon and Sony has high-end APS-C mirrorless cameras as well as Fujifilm primarily focus on this format in the market. Recent reports indicates that Nikon is working on a new DX (APS-C) Z-mount mirrorless camera to compete with Fujifilm, Canon and Sony.

So it is said to be an entry-level camera but the new Nikon DX mirrorless camera may not be called Nikon Z1. Because if there will be a Nikon Z1 it is already has a FX designation on its prototype. See here.

Currently, there is no much about Nikon’s DX format Z-mount mirrorless cameras. Regardless of what is next, stay tuned to our website to find out the latest digital camera news and Nikon Rumors.
