Olympus 12mm f/1.2 PRO lens to be announced in late 2018

Olympus 12mm f/1.2 PRO lens is rumored to be announced in late 2018. The wide-angle prime optic will be the fourth fast PRO F1.2 lens in company’s lineup.

Olympus already has the M.Zuiko 12mm f/2 lens in their lineup. The compact prime lens offers 24mm equivalent field of view to capture beautiful protraits. The company will introduce the 12mm f/1.2 PRO lens in late 2018 with a faster aperture of f/1.2 and PRO series advantages

The PRO lens line-up of Olympus consists of three lenses at the moment. First one in the series was the 25mm F1.2 PRO that has became official. As you might remember we’ve met the Olympus 17mm f/1.2 PRO and 45mm f/1.2 PRO lenses in late 2017. Now let’s talk a bit more about the Olympus 12mm f/1.2 PRO lens.

Olympus 12mm f/1.2 PRO lens might arrive at Photokina 2018

A fast and optically refined wide-angle prime, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm F1.2 Pro lens is in the works. The 24mm equivalent lens will be designed for Micro Four Thirds digital cameras. The bright f/1.2 maximum aperture will be ideal for working in low-light conditions.

Olympus 12mm f/1.2 PRO lens will have a weather-sealed construction which guards the lens against dust, moisture, and freezing temperatures for working in harsh environments.

If the rumors are true, than the release of these primes occur a nice edition of box set. The focal length vary from 12, 17, 25 to 45mm with PRO series features. This means that the F1.2 series will convert from 24 mm to 90 mm at a stretch.

We expect the Olympus 12mm f/1.2 PRO lens announcement will happen at Photokina 2018 event along with the release of the Olympus E-M5 Mark III camera.
