Panasonic has been rumored to introduce a new flagship Gx-series camera in late 2017. The device in question were a high-end model that would be the replacement of Panasonic GX8. The rumor mill didn’t provide when will be the flagship MFT camera become official. As a result Panasonic GX9 camera price and release date information remains unknown. First let’s remember the GX8 specs and details.

The GX8 comes packed with a 20MP Four Thirds CMOS sensor with 2.36M-dot tilting OLED EVF. The mirrorless camera features a DUAL IS capability as well as depth from Defocus AF system. The body is weatherproof magnesium alloy and the camera offers 4K video recording and 10fps burst shooting.

Expectations for Panasonic GX9 camera

The company is on the verge to announce a new Micro Four Thirds camera called the Panasonic GX9. Here are our thoughts and expectations for the GX9 camera.

  • Same 20-Megapixel Live MOS sensor (with no AA filter)
  • Better DFD AF technology (10fps with DFD?)
  • 5-axis IBIS (maybe from G85)
  • ISO up to 102,400
  • 4K video at 60fps
  • New filter effects
  • Same body design ergonomics
  • Price around $1200

Hmmm…wondering if it’s worth trading up for Oly EM1.2 or waiting. What about IBIS for my oly lenses?

I’m assuming that we are no loner waiting for a GX9 now that the G9 has been launched? I’m assuming that this was the fabled high end Camera? I assume a lot 🙂
