Irix has announced a new 11mm f/4 wide-angle lens for full-frame DSLR users. This is the second model that will join the existing 15mm F2.4.
The newly-announced manual focus lens offers photographers a whopping 126° view with “minimal distortion, as low as 3.13%”. The Irix 11mm F4 lens comes in two versions Blackstone and Firefly for full-frame Canon, Nikon, and Pentax DSLRs.
The lens is weather-sealed and comes in rugged or lightweight versions. The Firefly model is 12% lighter than the Blackstone, but the Blackstone is made from aluminum-magnesium alloy, features a metal-grooved focusing ring and has an anti-scratch coating.
As a result the Blackstone version costs $825 and the Firefly only cost you for $595. Check the listing on the company’s US website for more information.
