Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT Flash Unit Becomes Official

Canon has announced the Speedlite 600EX II-RT flash unit with faster recycle times and the DM-E1 Directional Stereo Microphone.

The new Speedlite 600EX II-RT from Canon offers wireless shooting via radio and optical transmission, but improves flash recycle times by 1.1 to 1.5x when using AA batteries and up to 2x with a new CP-E4N add-on battery pack.

A guide number of 60m at ISO 100 allows you to creatively light your subject over a wide range of distances and large areas, ideal for capturing the whole congregation at a wedding.

The zoom flash head covers a range of 20-200mm helps photographers to easily control how light is spread across a subject. It can control up to 5 groups of compatible flash units, offers a weather- and dust-resistant design and boasts ‘simplified’ button and dial operation.

For speedy and comprehensive flash photography on the go, the Speedlite 600EX II-RT delivers portable, professional performance with ease.

DM-E1 Directional Stereo Microphone

The DM-E1 is a compact stereo directional microphone featuring a classic shotgun design with three directional sound pick-up modes. Switching to the 90- and 120-degree modes provides stereo sound for sources that are spread over wider areas, such as an orchestra in a concert hall. Both new accessories will become available next month.

Price and Availability

The Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT will start shipping from June, 2016. The price of the flash unit will stand at $579.99 and available from B&H and Adorama stores.
