Canon has a new patent application for a new prime lens. The new patent describes the EF 58mm f/1.4 lens designed for Canon DSLRs with full-frame image sensors.
The Canon EF 58mm f/1.4 prime lens comes with a fast maximum aperture. It is ideal as an everyday lens and is very effective in low light conditions
If becomes in production the EF 58mm f/1.4 lens will probably not repace the current EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM but sure will compete against Nikon’s AF-S NIKKOR 58mm f/1.4G lens.
