Mitakon Zhongyi 25mm F/0.95 Lens Sample Images

First sample images now available online for the Zhongyi Mitakon Speedmaster 25mm f/0.95 super-fast standard lens designed for the Micro Four Thirds system cameras

Richard Wong has posted several sample images of the Mitakon 25mm f/0.95 lens with his Panasonic GX7 (AmazonAdoramaeBay).

Mitakon 25mm f/0.95 lens is compatible with Olympus and Panasonic Micro Four Thirds cameras and available for purchase on eBay for $399.

The MFT lens is manual focus only and has an aperture ring that has click-less stops for video users. It has a very small and lightweight body (only 230gr) and features a maximum aperture of F0.95, a barrel diameter of 60mm/2.4in and uses 11 elements arranged in 9 groups. The minimum aperture setting is F16 and the iris is constructed with 11 blades.

I don’t much care for the way the out-of-focus areas look. It reminds me of what thinks look like when you cross your eyes…almost a double-image effect. I find it distracting, which is the opposite of what you normally want with the background.

I think this is a handy tool to have for low-light situations, but I still would prefer my Oly 25mm prime over this as a general purpose lens.
