Canon Working on a New Slower Super Telephoto Lens

Canon is rumored to be developing a new super telephoto lens which will have a constant aperture slower than f/4.

According to latest Canon rumors, the affordable super telephoto zoom lens will arrive in 2016 and it will be a non “L” designated lens.

The slow aperture of the upcoming Canon super telephoto lens is said to be around F5.6. Even it would be a new lens, it reminds the update of the EF 400mm f/5.6L model.

The price of this lens has not revealed yet but it is mentioned as “affordable” which means it will compete the already affordable Sigma and Tamron super telephoto zoom models. See Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 and Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3.
