DxOMark published their test results for the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 20mm f/1.8G wide-angle prime lens which is currently priced for $799.95 at Amazon.
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 20mm f/1.8G ED test results shows the lens score of 33 points and performed well. The lens placed 158th for all lenses tested, but crucially in 1st place for Nikon FX-mount 20mm primes tested by DxOmark.
The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 20mm f/1.8G lens gained a great result from the test and according to DxOMark, Nikon’s latest wide-angle prime lens is the best FX-mount 20mm they’ve tested. Tests were made by using a Nikon D810 DSLR.

If it’s definitely an FX-mount 20mm prime you’re after, the new $797 Nikon 20mm f/1.8G has a slight edge over the older $499 f/2.8 D version and the $569 Sigma 20mm f/1.8 EX third-party alternative. Tested on the D810, the newer and more expensive Nikon 20mm excels in all sub-categories and achieves a superior DxOMark Lens Score of 33 compared to 27 for the Sigma and 26 for the f/2.8D version.
The AF-S NIKKOR 20mm f/1.8G ED comes with the CL-1015 Flexible Lens Pouch and the HB-72 Lens Hood and uses 13 elements in 11 groups, it features a Nano Crystal Coat and offers a minimum focus distance of 0.2m.
