Apple has released a new Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update to Mac OS X. Version 6.03 adds support for several new cameras.
Apple Digital Camera Raw now supports the cameras as detailed below. Also note that Aperture version 3.5 or later, or iPhoto version 9.4.3 or later, is required to install this update.
Apple Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 6.0.3 provides system-level support for Raw files from the likes of the Nikon D5500, new Panasonic Lumix compact models, Pentax 645Z, K-S1, Sony A7 Mark II and several new Leica cameras.

This update adds RAW image compatibility for the following cameras to Aperture 3 and iPhoto ’11:

- Leica V-Lux (Typ 114)
- Leica X (Typ 113)
- Leica X Vario (Typ 107)
- Nikon D5500
- Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ70 / DMC-FZ72
- Panasonic LUMIX DMC-ZS40 / DMC-TZ60 / DMC-TZ61
- Panasonic LUMIX DMC-ZS50 / DMC-TZ70 / DMC-TZ71
- Pentax 645Z
- Pentax K-S1
- Sony Alpha ILCE-7M2
