Canon Patent for EF-S 9-18mm f/4.5-5.6 Lens

Egami has discovered a new patent filed by Canon. The new patent describes a EF-S 9-18mm f/4.5-5.6 lens which is designed for APS-C sized sensored DSLR cameras.

The lens looks very similar to the recently announced the EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM (see samples) lens which is also designed for APS-c DSLRs. If the patent becomes live in production, this 9-22mm lens will have a longer and wider zoom range than the 10-18mm.

The Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens price is $299. See patent details below.
