First image of the upcoming EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens leaked ahead of the announcement.

The rumors about the super-telephoto zoom lens updated a few days ago, as the announcement of the EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS II lens looks very soon. Trusted Japanese source Digicame-info has posted the very first image of the lens today.

The design of the Canon’s upcoming EF 100-400mm telephoto-lens look similar to the EF 70-300mm F4-5.6L. See the image below.

Canon will update the EF 100-400mm lens after so many years as the upcoming EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens is expected to feature a rotating zoom ring, like the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II and a new 4-stop IS system.

It will be lighter weight than its predecessor and include a 82mm filter thread. The telephoto lens will also come packed with a new coating.
