Northlight has posted their review of the new Canon EF-S 10-18 f/4.5.5-6 IS STM lens. The lens designed specifically for EOS APS-C DSLRs and first samples look very good, considered the price tag as $299. See their conclusion below.

Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens offers a 35mm equivalent focal range of 16-29mm and features both a UD lens element and a range of optimised lens coatings, as well as a quiet STM focus motor, 4-stop image stabiliser and a circular iris diaphragm.

From Northlight verdict :

If you’re not used to ‘shooting wide’ then this lens is a very welcome addition to Canon’s line-up. At appreciably less cost than the EF-S10-22, the 10-18mm surprised me with its build quality and optical performance. The image stabilisation adds to its general purpose usefulness and partly makes up for its relatively restricted aperture.
